TBI external fuel pump/regulator questions
« on: June 20, 2014, 09:17:09 PM »
Since I'm running a fuel cell in the Roadmaster, I need an external pump.

Roadmaster's 5.7 TBI requires 9-13 PSI (according to GM Service Information, so I know it's accurate).

Found this pump/regulator combo:

I know nothing about regulators, especially in a TBI setup.

My question is, does the regulator automatically manage the fuel pressure on the fly (hence the name), meaning, if my pump has a maximum 14PSI the regulator will automatically restrict the flow based on what the engine is needing at the time?

I'm told the stock regulator should work fine, but I'll hang into the supplied one just in case.

The one in the link won't adjust on the fly like the stocker. Stock one has a vacuum line going to it that regulates it between the 9-13 psi depending on load.

Sweet, that's all I need. I'm just going to run the new pump/cell into the existing lines for simplicity sake, even use the same wiring harness so no major work needed.
