Porsche Club

A Porsche Club from Virginia Beach area was out on their 55th annual charity drive. I snapped just a couple quick photos.

I always did love Porsches. I'm surprised to see mostly new ones. Only two 930 ones were in your pics, those were my favorites, along with the 993 GT2. <3

I'm not really interested in any of them. I would have taken any of them for a test drive if given the chance, but whatever, I'll never own one.

They're going up in price. My old boss from my last job had four of them. Three of them were easily worth +$50 for being in mint condition and low miles. He even had a 935 Slantnose, and an all original RUF BCT from Germany, that's valued around $80K.

That's awesome. There is basically zero car scene around here. There was a local Ferrari show last year, but most of the cars that showed up had out-of-state plates.

The blobbed headlamps seem to be very unpopular.

I'm surprised to see no 914's or 993's or even a 944. Nice 928, though.

993s seem to demand a price premium due to the fact that they are the last hand built air cooled 911s. C2s, C4s and turbo models especially still command high prices. I have owned three Porsches and recommend avoiding 996s. Intermediate shaft issues and looks generally turn people off to them. However, later model 997s can be had for relatively reasonable prices. IMO they retain the classic 911 looks and good reliability/interior options.

If price was not an option though, I would own a 993 GT2, which unfortunately are exceedingly rare.

That's the best one there IMO. Boxsters and Cayman are rad but they're a cut below some of the other Porsches, I think.
