My Vape Setup
« on: April 02, 2014, 06:15:59 PM »
This is my current set up.

The tank is an Aspire Nautilus. It's relatively new, but has gotten glowing reviews from everyone so I decided to order one. It came in last Saturday, and it's by far the best tank I own.

PROS

Huge 5mil Tank - No more having to travel with extra oil in-case I run out. That battery is bigger than a pocket maglight, and that tank is almost just as wide.
Adjustable Airflow - The base has 4 progressively larger holes to allow for more or less airflow. The ring around the base has only one hole allowing you to choose which size you'd like just by turning the ring. Less air = tighter draw, slightly less vapor, and more flavor. More air = looser draw, huge clouds of vapor, but less flavor.
The Flavor = The way the atomizer is built, the wick is almost non existent which means hardly anything to alter the flavor.

CONS

Price - It's certainly not cheap, but no tank this good will be.
Looks - Let's face it, it's not that pretty. Neither is Benjamin Franklin, but I love seeing that muthafucka.
Glass - I am terrified I'm going to drop it and watch it shatter into a million pieces.

It's a great tank 10/10. Perfect for beginners as it's easy to setup, clean, and use. Perfect for advanced users also, since it gives you a very similar vaping experience to a rebuild-able atomizer (like the kayfun which I will review later this week) without the hassle of rebuilding.

This is the Lavatube v2.5. I've bought cheap e-go batteries in the past and they haven't held up well. After one or two months they either break, or just don't work like they should anymore. So I decided to just spend the money on one that will last. This thing preforms like the day I got it 4 months ago. It's been dropped (I'm clumsy at times), girlfriend has flung it against a wall (she's clumsy all the time), and I've had a tank lose it's entire load (heh heh) into it. There's not a scratch on it and nothing electronically wrong with it either. It's quite literally the M1 Abrams of digital mods.

PROS

Removable Battery - It uses a single IMR 18650 battery. I have two so I never have to worry about waiting for the battery to charge since at least one is ALWAYS charged. If one breaks, I don't have to replace the entire device like the old e-go's.
Tough as Hell - The outer shell is an 1/8 inch stainless steel and aluminum.
Power - It's variable voltage and wattage. Voltage goes from 3.0v to 6.0v and wattage goes from 3.0w to 15.0w.
Ohm Meter - So you don't kill yourself if you try to rebuild an atomizer. Testing the ohm's/resistance first will tell you if you have a short before you apply any electricity to it.
Long Lasting - My old ego's would last all day if I was lucky which I normally wasn't. This will always last two days on a fresh battery. It will even last 4 days when I'm not chiefing on it.
Looks - As mods go, this one is not bad looking. Even comes in an array of different colors. From gunmetal gray (like mine), red, blue, purple, ah shit nigga CHROME!

CONS

Weight - It's heavy, but not too bad. There are much heavier mods out there.
Size - With the Nautilus on top you can forget about putting it in your pocket, but it fits just fine with any of my old Kanger Protanks.

Those are really the only two cons. Its just fantastic mod and worth every penny I spent for it. 10/10

I'm waiting on a second gen Nautulis to come in to my local head shop, supposedly they've addressed the glass issue and it's supposed to be equivalent to Pyrex in terms of strength and I've dropped more than 1 Pyrex bowel on the floor with out breaking them  I have to hand it to Kanger, I've dropped the fuck out of my II without so much as a scratch

Fuuuuucckkk....I will cry like a ditched prom date if that shit ever happens to mine. You can replace the glass tank with a metal one now. May have to do that one day, but until then I'll just stick with my Kayfun Lite Plus when I leave home. Its all stainless steel. I doubt I could break that even if I wanted to.

Oh, but nice setup bro.

I think the vv mod is kind of giant for the size of the battery though.

People are reporting that they are getting orders touching down in the states within 3 days.

My order fell into delivery hell due to the crash.

wicho -Thanks dude

Btw what did you mean by the mod vs battery size? Like cosmetically or electrically?

I ordered from FastTech twice...The first time it took a month and a half. Everything I ordered broke within a month (An original Protank, and an Evod vv battery). I was still new with vaping so didn't know any better. I tried ordering again at the beginning of January, mid March nothing had left China yet. I'm too impatient for that so I canceled lol.

Meaty - I can usually always tell when my tank is getting low without looking. Plus its not hard at all to unscrew the bottom and look in. Especially on the Nautilus. It would be nice to have at least the option for a window like my Kayfun has. It came with the stainless steel mid piece and a glass window mid piece. That window piece is obviously not pyrex though, way too thin.

Were talking about e-cigarettes, the intermediate to advanced types.

And they have been swept up by the fedoric community.

At a local vapor shop, there were three guys wearing fedoras without any irony.

That's why I'm glad my vape place was a head shop first, not elitist enough for the fedora crowd.

These guys seem pretty awesome and have some of the better prices online.

I'll look up threads on shipping and reviews.
