[TV Show] House of Cards
« on: July 17, 2013, 07:47:24 PM »
House of cards is a relatively new political drama exclusively streamed on Netflix, and starring Kevin Spacey.

The show follows House Majority Whip Frank Underwood (Spacey) and his power plays with high-ranking politicians in DC. Underwood is a charming southern gentleman with a calm demeanor, but he is 100% "wolf" in the game of politics. In the first episode you are introduced to Zoe Barnes (played by Kate Mara), a young Washington Herald reporter who lands herself firmly in the middle of Underwood's games. As the story progresses, we learn more about Underwoood's motives and his obsession with power, as well as how he uses it.

I'm five epsidoes into the show now, and absolutely hooked. Netflix has committed to a second season, which is already in production. The characters are enthralling...some you love and most you hate, but they all grip you and push you to keep watching.  The writing can be a little trite and often lacks subtlety, but the quality of acting more than makes up for it.

So far 9/10...this ranks right upt here with Homeland as my favorite new show. Anyone with Netflix should be watching this.
