Look at all those question marks.

I installed AVG on my my Galaxy S3 last year the day I got it, just because I felt I should. I run it on my computer...so why not on my phone?  My question is, is it really even necessary? I understand how to use the internet in a reasonably sensible way and don't click on malicious links.  Is it even needed?

I run avast on my android tablet and my S3, and its caught a couple of malicious items here and there but then again I torrent and download quite a bit, especially on the tablet. Its cheap insurance and as the popularity of any operating system increases so too do the malware threats. Unless its using tons of system resources running in the background I hardly see the harm in running an AV.
