Interesting Development in Mexico

After several years of basically silence, the Zapatistas have started speaking out again. Though I'm not fully on board with their Marxist leaning core beliefs, I think they would be a much better force in Mexico than the drug cartels that are basically running shit there now. 40k members is a hell of a bunch of people for such a grass roots movement in such an isolated and impoverished area as well, pretty damn impressive.

Marxist/Leninist usurpers are the last thing Mexico needs.

In the Soviet playbook, crisis leading to civil war calls for the removal of property and murder of professionals who were in power before. Then, after its all said and done, the extremists are quietly disappeared for normalization and stability to take place on a national scale after power is held.

Even people who are "land owners", like my family and uncle who own land for agricultural purposes and employs many people. Oh, he also lets many of the workers live on the land for free and pays them to work the pig farms, till corn fields and collect free range chicken eggs (They are all the rage right now). Giant heart? That's my uncle.

He deals with thousands of pigs to sell to restaurants (expensive feed and pricy hygienic/veterinary practices), square kilometers of corn and has large swaths of land. His ending pay? Enough for a small home, an old ass Chevy mini-truck and to enough to supplement the education fees of his four daughters.

My uncle would probably be strung up by the Zapatistas for not being Marxist enough or resisting the removal of his property.

This is not what we need.

From what I've read though they're more Anarchist Marxist and supposedly favor co-ops and such in the market place....which based on the Anarchist type beliefs leads me to believe they wouldn't be hostile towards land owners such as your Uncle...or is that just an image they portray to garner support?

The North Vietnamese never said they were going to take things.  Two people I work with were living there at the time.  They said a knock came on the door the day after the Americans left.  Both times "Is that your Chevrolet?  Oh, that is too big of a car for you and your family.  You do not need it, so we are taking it.  Here are some bicycles for you."  A week later, same story "Is this your house and land?  It's too big of a house and too much land.  We are taking it.  Here is a small house for you with no land."

One of the two said his dad spent 10 years at the Hanoi Hilton because he worked for the Americans.

Vietnam is a little different story though because because Ho Chi Minh got dicked over by the Americans following WWII and then the Soviets adopted him as one of their own to proxy fight us.....so of course after the war he was going to do whatever they told him to do.

The Zapatistas seem to be slightly different because even though they have some Marxist leanings, they don't SEEM to be the strict Soviet form used in North Vietnam. But....there is a huge lack of real information regarding them outside of Mexico from what I'm gathering because they are based in such a remote and poor region...so I'm just trying to learn as much about them as I can before I pass judgement on them.

Marxist is Marxist is Marxist.  They specialize in taking what isn't theirs and crushing individual liberties.

Just out of curiosity, but how many of his writings have you read?

That's irrelevant.  No one ever follows his writings.  They always corrupt it to meet their needs.

Vietnam wasn't different.  Screwing us over should not include screwing over the people of South Vietnam like he did.

No, we screwed Ho Chi over, which angered him enough to basically sell his soul to the soviets.

The writings of Marx aren't as relevant as the ones that followed perhaps and combined elements of Marxism with other philosophies. Not that I actually AGREE with any of if....but hell it sounds better to me than the narco terrorist cartels that currently rule the area directly adjacent to our border.

Until they take over and the river of illegals crossing our border turns into a full on tidal wave.

I think more people probably flee across the borders to flee the cartel warfare, and if somebody finally did something about them, it might would help stem the tide. But I read an article the other day that said that an increasing percentage of the illegals entering our country aren't even from Mexico but from Central and South America.

Seems to me, that in the last 100+ years, Marxism/Communism has been the excuse needed to get the working class onboard with their own slavery.

I was skimming my copy of the Communist Manifesto last night, and then I read some of the Federalist Papers....our country is far from what they intended that its disgusting.

That would probably be true, but people seeking political asylum are a little bit different than the illegals coming over now.
