High Pinion Dana 44 Axle Build Suggestions
« on: September 12, 2012, 09:08:15 AM »
So, I recently became the owner of a High Pinion Dana 44 front Axle from a 1979 Ford F-150. My plans for the build are as follows:
Rebuild brakes
Rebuild locking hubs (replace the stockers with Warn ones most likely)
4.88 possibly 5.13 Gears (goal is to run 37s, I already have a D44 in the rear)
Stronger drag link/tie rod, new tie rod ends
Locker (not sure if I want an Aussie or if I can just say fuck it and run a spool because of the hubs)
Chromolly Shafts
Baertrax Buttface diff cover

Any input or suggestions? Anything obvious that I missed?
