2002 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4

Picked this up for the wife the other night. It has 168k on the 4.0 and needs some love.

Rack and pinion is toast so I ordered a new one, a pump, pressure and return hoses, and tie rods. Also new pads rotors and calipers all the way around along with a full tune up. The detailer I use is setting to work on it and making it pretty again while touching up the couple spots of paint flake.

Not bad for 2200 me thinks

I will get more pics later, it is sitting on the hoist right now getting torn down

We've had a few of these in the dealership, they seem alright, but a couple of them had WEIRD rust spots, like one had some major rust going on just above the wind shield, and another that the lower b-pillars rotting out. I have no idea what causes either case because I've seen plenty that have no rust whatsoever.. but just keep an eye out, especially up here in the land of road salt.

Decent trucks. I know they eat through wheel bearings fairly quick.
