HONDA GUYS: H23A1 or F20A

Which one do you guys think would be a better choice? Power, efficiency, tune-ability, etc?

I'd go with the H23a1... but that's only because I'm a Prelude fanboy.

Or H22 head with H23a bottom end.

What are your goals, though.  That'd help.

H.

More power, more displacement, more potential, better aftermarket.

Well there is one caveat. You can't boost an H and expect it to take it because of the fiber reinforced sleeves. They suck dick.

If you want to turbo it some day down the road, get the F.

I was under the impression that the H23 didn't have FMR sleeves.  Could be wrong though.

Why not an F23, nacho?

I thought all Hs did. The thread on Honda-Tech says they do.

Basically, my goals are bolt ons, and when I get money, hopefully boost. I figured the H22 VTEC head on an H23 bottom, but since the Fiber Sleeves cant handle shit, no turbo. My friend has a JDM F20 in his Prelude, but he wants an H23, so I was just wondering which one would be better in the long run so that when I get my 'lude I could trade him for the F if it was somehow better. Im not looking to build a million billion horsepower street dominator, but I would like to put a turbo on for a few extra horses, plus the BOV sound is nice. If the H could handle, lets say 5psi, just enough to get me some decent oomph, Id be happy

The H seems to top out at around 8psi I believe.

Perfect. Thats down the line anyway, Id drop a H22 head on it long before I'd force feed it. I love VTEC kicks

The one I'm getting is a 1993 and I just read that the 92-96 versions are closed-deck blocks with FRM liners from 94-96 while the 97-01 versions used open-deck blocks with FRM liners. So I guess mine doesnt have the shitty FRM's
