Post your "timeless songs"
« on: August 12, 2010, 11:23:31 PM »
I know we like a lot of music, and still listen to it over the years, but I'm looking for one's that are something special to you.  Songs that over the years, that mean as much to you, and like them as much now as they did when you first heard them.  Song that you just know you'll love for the rest of your life.  A few of mine are:

Absolutely no bashing of anyone's songs or musical tastes

Eagle Eye Cherry - Save Tonight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nntd2fgMUYw

Crash Test Dummies - Superman's Song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihUIPlLw2ZE

Sublime - What I Got
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sal-bp_ciC4

Shinedown - 45
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMtOuK0KZHE
For me, this song is more than a song.  It rocked my world as far as perception of music goes (I was just getting into metal).  The first time I heard this, it was literally so powerful to me that it scared the shit out of me.  To this day, I still get goosebumps with every listen.  My personal greatest song ever.

Nirvana- Come as You Are.
First song I learned to play on my guitar, always gives me goosebumps.

Senses Fail- Blackout.
Its a song about alcohol ending a relationship, while I don't know the feeling personally, I feel like this song perfectly captures it.  Its one of the few songs that are capable of making me feel the artist's emotions properly.

Finch- What it is to Burn.
I don't know what it is about this one.  A very powerful song, more goosebumps.

GlassJaw- Ape Dos Mil
I just don't get tired of this one.  It musically one of my favorites.

Nirvana- Pennyroyal Tea.
Favorite Nirvana song.  You can really feel kurt's voice in this one.

Limp Bizkit- Rollin'
Haters gonna hate.

The Outfield- Your Love (and all covers of it)
Teehee.

I've been a Senses Fail fan for quite a long time and I've never heard that song, it is pure amazing.
also... Finch has always been one of my top 5 bands, I used to listen to this song on repeat when I was in high school.

Finch - Letters to you
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_I_6lZSCnU

Senses fail - one eight seven
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuWOm0UZe8Q&feature=related

Bayside - Kellum
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rg0lNf-UNyU
A girl I used to date got me into bayside so pretty much anything bayside, but this song in specific meant shit to me.

Alkaline Trio - Stupid kid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k78P4IV7M_M

Brand New - The quiet things that no one ever knows
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMJIc9USE2U
I'm pretty sure I'll get shit about this one.  Brand new is pretty much emo, when I was in high school this was the shit I listened to on a regular basis.  I went thru alot of shit my senior year and this song helped me out a bit, I'd say I prob. Listened to this song about 30 times a day for about 12 months.

Blink 182 - Josie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6kfin-UeAQ&feature=channel
I've met Tom Delong and Mark Hoppus at a show.  I've seen them play live about 5 times.
Another song I grew up listening to.

I cant say I've heard it, I stopped following them a while ago.  But their old stuff was always my favorite.

The one song that always seems to get me every time I hear it, is Exhausted by Foo Fighters.

Easily the best song Dave Grohl has ever written. It's just a great song on many levels, one of those rare songs where the emotion behind it is conveyed perfectly. Dave was obviously worn out from touring, worn out from the crap surrounding Kurt Cobain's suicide, and this song was his release.
