WTB an 18-55 IS kit lens
« on: May 26, 2011, 08:22:46 PM »
Figured I'd ask here before I buy one from somewhere else.  Anyone have an 18-55 IS Canon lens they're willing to sell?  I'm building a handheld rig for shooting video, and could really use an IS lens.

What is your audio setup like? If you're not using a shotgun/off-cam mic, you will be able to hear the gyros spinning.

e: moved to swap for a little extra visibility/relevancy.

I run a Rode NTG-2 shotgun with a hot-shoe shock mount, Juiced Link CX211, and Magic Lantern to disable AGC.  Works quite well.  I also have a 20 foot XLR cable and a boom style mic stand for hanging the mic over someone's head during a sit-down interview.

The rig I'm building is basically just going to give me a handle on top so I can hang the camera and get nice smooth movement.  I'm thinking of attaching the mic's shock mount to the rig just for a little more noise isolation.

I've heard great things about IS lenses(even cheap ones like an 18-55) in regards to shooting video.
