If you could put enough skid-plating on the bottom, a school bus would be an IDEAL Apocalypse car. City transit buses are reliable, but too low to the ground.

If you could put enough skid-plating on the bottom, a school bus would be an IDEAL Apocalypse car. City transit buses are reliable, but too low to the ground.

You would want some additional support around the passenger compartment, as most school buses are assembled with rivets (body) and self tapping screws (everywhere else).  But, a 4WD bus would be a very good zombie smasher.  As a bonus you can live in it, and they have big ass fuel tanks.
