figured I'd just post in this old thread of mine rather than start a new one.

So the civic in the original post blew up 2 days after it put down 415whp, dropped a valve. part the valve shot through the piston into the lower end, the stem went through the head and ended up going through the turbo and ruining it as well.

Anyway he parted it out and sold it and got a integra:
Day he got it:

Couple weeks later:

As it sat a few weeks ago:

I need to get a current pic, it's done now. Pretty much fully built, running on C16. Still needs tuned, going for 400-500whp. It's a GSR motor.

Anyway, here is my other friend's car. By the way its these two guys who got me into turbo cars in the first place back in 09 when their cars were each still 200-300whp.
I know Sentry knows of this guy.
He finally got his own place to work on the car, it's been sitting at my house for months haha
This is his car back 2 years ago at 290whp:
Yes at one point he was a typical ricer, slowly the rice has dissapeared over time. Some things like the hood were done after hitting a deer, and the carbon fiber lip to cover up the damage to his bumper:

Now his 475whp build last year: Ran 11.01@129mph Thought the motor went but turns out the knocking was just the flywheel coming loose lol

Now he has started his new build, finally abandoning the sohc and going with a GSR.

Just a couple teaser pictures of it from last night after some test fitting some rice onto his car.

Enjoy fellow ricers!

ill just update this since my buddy doesn't have a build thread I never have a place asides facebook to post the pics I take of his car haha.

Anyway he had pulled the motor just to clean his engine bay and delete ABS. Ended up also doing some stuff with his wiring harness/fuel line. Re-ran all new brake lines and replaced about everything for brakes excluding pads/calipers/rotors themselves.

We got the motor in last night, intending to finish it but he forgot a few things like his clutch alignment tool, got wrong fuel line, and we had a couple other snags so we just got the motor in last night. Still needed to put the trans /fuel line / wiring harness in.

Got it running tonight, fired up perfect without a problem and he drove it home for the time being (shop is about 15-20 minutes away from where we live)

buddy doin work:

motor in ready to fire:

letting it warm up to bleed the coolant system

ready to roll
