Any car audio gurus?
« on: December 13, 2010, 02:37:01 PM »
I have a quick audio question. I'll give some background info first... this is all in my DD, a 97 Toyota Celica liftback, with the stock headunit and (4) coax speakers.

My stock HU is dying, and the front speakers are dead. I am going to upgrade to THIS HU, and THIS pair of components for the front.

Now for the rears. I was actually planning on leaving those alone, but I was given a pair of THESE components by a coworker. They aren't of the best quality, but must be better than stock which is why I was thinking of using them in the rear.

1: Would it be stupid to have components, front AND rear?
2: Or could I just ditch the tweeters/crossovers and just use the mids in the rear?

Just use them all... More sound surrounding you isn't a bad thing.

components won't sound too bad back there.  Just fine tune everything as best you can though.  Or it's gonna sound pretty crappy lol.
