Keep your britches on, pipsqueak. I was making hauls better than that back when I was barely legal. But, keep it up, you'll get there someday...

I've made better hauls from Thrifty Liquor...  That last lot was from my brother's gf too.  My next run I'll have to buy another fridge for.

I know they stock Delirium at the Thrifty near LSUS and Cuban Liquor sometimes gets some interesting brews.

I've had two banana bread beers at a New England microbrew convention.  One was god-awful horrible (too much banana).  The other had a nice subtle taste of banana bread and was quite good.

Not that great of a haul, 4 of those 7 beers you can buy here at any supermarket.

I just noticed he's from Louisiana. Almost a wasteland when it comes to finding good craft beer, at least compared to other states. I'm surprised they even get Stone. The only state that is less beer blessed is probably Mississippi, who sure enough doesn't get Stone beers

So, we gotta give the guy a break... ;D

not to change the subject but has anyone ever seen the documentary "beer wars" not the greatest in the world but does shed a lot of light on the beer world and how hard it is for breweries such as stone to get into the markets. They may be their own company but they still have to deal with budweiser to even get distributed, it is illegal for the brewer to sell directly to the stores.

Yep, good movie. There are a lot of smaller distribution companies but you are right in some cases a small craft brewery will have to use Anheuser-Busch's distribution system to get their beer to stores. Which of course makes you wonder how fairly beer is placed in stores, etc.

Occasionally, I have a Nimbus when my girlfriend and I go out. I, however, start feeling ill after 3-4 beers. So most of the time I drink mixed drinks. Whiskey Sours and Vodka Pineapples are usually the drinks of choice. Tonight its shots of Bacardi Limon chased with Mt Dew.

5 Molson Canadian Cold Shots and a Stella Artois, saving the 11 Stellas left and the bottle of chilean Carmérnère wine for tomorrow.

Bought my girlfriend some Amaretto for Christmas... its pretty good stuff! A little sweet and sour mix, or maybe some Canada Dry ginger ale, and you have a tasty drink!

While I was home for Christmas, we visited my sister who lives in NJ. They have a great liquor store there named Hops & Grapes. Huge selection of beers with a good chunk of them already chilled. Here are the two I picked up:

Old Guardian was pretty good. Very strong hops bitterness, but I enjoyed it. I also liked the Fin. Reminded me of Victory's Golden Monkey but less sweet.

Amaretto sours are damn good, sadly I cannot drink them. The sweet and sour mix brings up my heartburn and I CANNOT get rid of it. Last time I had one, I had heartburn for about 3-4 hours. Nothing I did would get rid of it. Really sucks because I could drink those all night long.

Kalgorn: La Fin du Monde is one of my favorites.  Cheap AND delicious!  Love the way itsmells.  Drank a bomber ofit on top of a parking garage downtown with a friend one night.

On that note,I just had a couple pints of Sam Adams Imperial Stout.  It's not bad...head's not as thick as I typically like though.

I enjoyed it. It was just short of $8 for that bottle.

I've cut back on beer at this point though. I've got so much SoCo that needs to be drank. I still have 1/3 of a handle here at my apartment, my sister bought me a handle for Christmas, and my wife's aunt bought me a bottle of SoCo Lime that I polished off on New Years.
