Guidance of what I'm heading toward?

Queens of the Stone Age - Fun Machine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9xLXI8t7RY

What fucking awesome hard rock do you listen to that makes you rock the fuck out when you hear it. I mean, the really good stuff.

Sorry, classic rock/80s blues rock is omitted.

Alter Bridge - White Knuckles - It amazes me how perfect Kennedy's voice is in the live performance of.. well, any of their songs. This is probably the most energetic AB song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5jKMjLDpWw

Foo Fighters - All My Life - This song, cranked, HAS to get your blood pumping. Dave Grohl said in an interview that the opening riff is like a weapon, when he starts playing it the crowd goes insane.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3pNq_0nYiU

Queens of the Stone Age - Sick, Sick, Sick - This is a strange song (and the video is even weirder), but for some reason the riff and beat just sticks with me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHDaKtx6bGY

Muse - Stockholm Syndrome - Great riff, really energetic song. I don't really like how "opera" like the vocals can get at times, but still a cool song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wV9_je85DE

Alice in Chains - A Looking In View - I never really liked AiC before, starting to get into their old stuff... Usually when a band suffers the loss of a singer and replaces them with someone new, they never sound the same. AiC definitely seems heavier and louder now, but it's still great stuff.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnBEXTuUca0

Cracker - Low - Not sure if this counts as "modern rock" since it came out in 1993, but I fucking love this song.

Homme's creative and esoteric guitar playing *made* the band.

Without him, I dare that it might sound normal.

I'm pissed that the re-release of QOTSAs first album was pushed back :-\. But then again, Them Crooked Vultures fucking ROCKS!

Oh and I fucking love that NIN song, Kwhit. Its so simple, energetic and awesome.

*Oh and Nick, if you weren't so fucking uptight, we could be good friends.

Check out the song Hyper Music by Muse. I'm sure you'll like it. It has one of my favorite bass progressions.

Dat fukkin bass.

I have AiC's new album, the whole thing is good stuff. Seriously good stuff. I can get my grunge fix again!!!! I love it.

Them Crooked Vultures come to mind when I think of this genre. Their stuff seems to be rather polarizing. You either love it or hate it. I love it.

...and either quite drinking or quite posting because you're going into some sort of weird AMERICA 1776 FUCK YEAH mode.

Agree on the polarizing effect. From what I understand, he tried to reinvent the blues... and Grohl called John Paul.

My favorite riff comes from nobody loves me and neither do I. Comes after the bridge near the center of the song.

Just. Fucking. ROCK.

I ruined AiC for myself....that used to be some of my favorite nodding music ever, and I guess for good reason since Layne was a heroin addict...but still, I can't really listen to them anymore or I start getting into a funk. The newer stuff I can handle, but not the old albums.

That bass line reminds me a lot of Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave, which isn't a bad thing.

TCV is awesome, I'm not 100% in love with the album, BUT I have to respect that it's different from anything else out there. To me, that's more important than an album full of "made to please" songs. TCV is the embodiment of artistic integrity - 3 musicians doing what they love, because they love it and don't give a fuck what anyone WANTS to hear.

Incubus - Certain Shade of Green - Say what you will, Incubus is one of the sadly small crop of creative bands out there. Sure, this song is from the age when grunge was dying off, and their new stuff is definitely a lot softer.. but there is still a distinct style and passion behind their music.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEmx9kyahxU

Audioslave - Show Me How to Live - I wasn't a huge fan of RATM mainly because of the politics (which was probably THE reason a lot of people liked RATM), yet I loved their energy. Coincidentally, I really enjoyed some Soundgarden, so the mixing of Cornell's amazing voice and RATM's distinctive style was perfect for me.

Dude old Incubus is quality...can't remember the album name, but the one that had Pardon Me on it, and everything before that was awesome.

Pardon Me is a fucking great song to listen to when you're pissed off or just sick of shit.

Brandon Boyd wrote it after reading a book about spontaneous combustion, and felt it was a perfect metaphor for how he feels sometimes when dealing with.. people, in general, I guess. I can relate.

I'm going to dump everything in here that doesn't fit into other threads.  Hardcore, post hardcore, crab core jew core corecore and whatever other cores exist.

Starting with Senses Fail, on of my favorite bands.  I'll start with the newest cd and go backwards, with two from each cd.

From The Fire

Lifeboats

The Fire

From Life Is Not A Waiting Room

Ali For Cody

Blackout
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJa5AovdiGo

From Still Searching

Still Searching
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcKKbpBCM8Q

Sick Or Sane
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkEHnwVnHKk

From Let It Enfold You

Rum Is For Drinking Not For Burning
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbYgSZzBpAw

The Irony Of Dying ON Your Birthday
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmb6E5f1UMM

From From The Depths Of Dreams

One Eight Seven
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuWOm0UZe8Q

The Ground Folds
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twph9N-M22k

As you can tell, I love this band.  Kinda Screamo post hardcoreish if I had to label it.  A majority of the songs are about the lead singers drinking problems, failing in life, loss of faith, and his father abandoning his family when he was young.  Some brilliant songs up there, if you like them, be sure to read the lyrics.

I'll just post this for now, don't want to whore up this part I could post for days with all these bands I like.
