His build reads as a fun list on how-to install all sorts of factory extras on an Opel Astra F.

No, I will not put this in TRF&F. It's a 1.7 turbo diesel, meaning its 0-60 time can be measured using years, and on a good day it can barely outrun glacial drift. (Being a diesel, it will keep going until the end of the world, though)

Fresh paint and new shoes (wheels) will go a LONG way! This is why I consider putting aftermarket wheels on any car, even my Elantra.  :P

Not impressed.  Some cheap lowering springs and a bunch of cosmetic stuff?  Meh.

The clear corners are meh, but I don't see any problem with the painted bumper and mirror caps.  I think they kinda help.  Gray plastic just looks cheap.

I dunno about the clear lenses, but seeing as how it sounds like the painted mirrors and bumper were factory options it just sounds more like smart junk yarding to me, along with some fresh paint and wheels.

I don't really see too much wrong with it. He wasn't attempting to make it look like a race car, he just wanted his shit box to be a little classier - and he succeeded. It definitely looks a lot nicer than before, and as if you could have purchased it like that.

I don't see anything wrong with it at all. Just because this is anti-rice doesn't mean we have to drive around shitholes -- even fast shitholes.

Actually, you almost could. If you take away the rims and the lowering kit, you end up with a stock later-model Astra.

All the things he added to the car came stock on a car at some point, that's what I like about it. The clear corners were stock on the later Astra F-models, the clear side indicators are off of an Astra G, the rims are off of a newer Corsa, the lowering springs came from an Astra GSi, and the better-spec models of those cars came with painted mirrors and bumpers.

Basically the only things that's not Opel-stock is the painted Vauxhall 'V' in the grill. All of them were chromed from the factory.
