Droptop Camaro Spotted
« on: July 27, 2010, 10:38:37 AM »

Looks like a great California car. The Mustang convertible has some serious competition now.

Oh snap....

I kinda like the looks of it, but the body style and all just makes it look like it was meant to be a convertible.

Wonder how much extra weight was added...

The real question is; since the hardtop weighs about the same as a small moon, would this be heavier or lighter? And if it's heavier, are we approaching the point where you need a commercial license for it?  ;D

I like the Camaros more than the Mustangs, but I still don't like convertibles no matter what model it is.

I actually think it doesn't look that bad in vert form.  I usually don't like the looks of verts compared to the hardtops, but I think they did a nice job.

Could always put some carbon fiber doors on it.

I wonder how much weight that'd save, anyway.

I'm still not a fan of convertibles but overall I guess it's alright.  I imagine the weight has increased by 2-300 pounds though on an already heavy car.

Very few cars look good as a convertible.  This is not one of them.

All of you bitching about how heavy it is need to realize that with the government mandated safety regulations, we are never going to see a light car again from any manufacturer.

See Corvette.....

3208 lb C6 base model (add ~100 lbs for the ZR1, subtract ~100 lbs for the Z06)... only 500 or so lbs lighter than the Camaro and it's a good bit smaller.

Agreed.  Just about every car with 4 seats is pushing 4000lbs these days.  Plus, I like large sedans, so I've never been a curb weight-phob.

That's right, but I'm surprised they couldn't do something better than 3,800 pounds. The Challenger is even worse, being over two tons.

I like the new Camaro, personally.

It's only 300 lbs heavier than the Mustang and 300 less than the Challenger, so could the weight people stfu, please?

Looking at it just right, it looks like a real pretty girl and then she turns around and has the biggest most un-natural looking ass ever. I'm all for a little meat on the bones but good god man.
