2014 Mustang GT
« on: August 26, 2017, 08:38:03 PM »
Welp, picked up the new car - we'll see how long this one lasts.
Dark red will help disguise blood from all those drifts that take me into pedestrians.

paid a bit more than my usual cheap deals haha. 26k into this.

only 4.5k miles on it.
Woke up at 2am and just got home from picking it up at around 4-5pm.
Been a long day to say the least.

Car has a few goodies that really made it stand out to me.

Car has the performance pack so it has the brembo brakes and premium wheels repainted by original owner kodiak brown metallic. Look black except under direct sun it's a great color.

Big obvious thing is the Roush Phase 3 TVS Supercharger Kit - it's supposed to be 675hp (at the crank of course). My ricer butt dyno reads about 570-580whp
Has Eibach Sportline lowering springs.
Roush splitters all the way around the car.
Roush Boost-A-Pump
GT500 Spoiler
Full Borla Exhaust and he gave me a pypes catback too that is super loud but I'm pretty happy with the borla.
SCT X4 Flash Tuner/Datalogger tuned by Justin of VMP on 91.
Roush boost gauge
RTR Rear License Plate vented trim

No real plans for it except an upper and lower grill to delete the GT fog lights, I think it makes the front of these cars look way better. Then a shifter - cars are known for meh shifters and people see a big difference with the Barton or MGW shifters.
MAYBE a drag wheel setup if I can get a good deal on it. I didn't buy this thing to track it. I might just borrow a friends set with as many times I've loaned my stuff out to try for a couple decent passes and call it good.
Its kind of fun having something for the first time in a long time that will blow the tires off from a roll in 2nd or 3rd.

The only weak point I worry about on the car is the clutch. Down the road it might get a mcleod or mantic clutch kit if I have issues.

The MOST i might do with it down the road is small fuel system upgrades and an e85 tune to try for 650-700whp.

As of right now the car is a ton of fun. I still love my trans am and admittedly think the trans am looks better but I have a lot more fun actually driving the coyote.

Of course knowing me who knows how long I'll own it. I honestly just drove some friends procharged c6 and another's coyote and decided I was tired of my old rattletrap fbody even with it being low miles and I wanted something quick and new. I really wanted a c6 vette and i actually found a vortech c6 in this area I got the car but the guy was very hard to communicate with and rarely got back to me or was clear with anything then I saw this and decided to hop on it. A big attraction on this car for me was that a 4k mile '14 GT will still pull 24-28k in some places, so it was a steal with the blower and all the tasteful mods. So down the road if I decide I want to make the switch to a C6 it shouldn't be hard to get out of this thing without losing money at all.

That thing looks fantastic. I love the color and I bet the supercharger is a real blast.

I can't believe you spent more than a couple grand on a vehicle though.

Thanks all, so far I love it.

It's so surreal how smooth and easy the car drives especially when you hammer down on it.
Anything below 50-60mph it'll blow the tires off but still feel smooth. When it hooks it pulls hard but still feels so relaxed. It's amazing how all these new high horsepower cars retain such a smooth controlled ride at WOT. It almost feels slow because of it.
I did get a little street action with my buddy's ZL1 that has a smaller pulley, btr stage 3 blower cam, and a few other mods. Should be 600+whp.  We went from a 20mph roll because a dig would be awful with my factory tires. I got damn near completely sideways hitting 3rd but straightened it out - he had about a car on me from me spinning but once I hooked up in 3rd he quit pulling away from me and it seemed like I might actually been slowly reeling him in.
Then yesterday raced another buddy's procharged m3 which hasnt been dyno'd but should also be around 550-600whp, he raced the ZL1 and barely beat him before it had the cam. We went from 40 rolls twice and both times I'd spin and he'd get a couple cars on me but then I'd reel him hard and fly by him at 100+.

So the car definitely needs a tire and maybe some uppers. I've heard upper control arms are a must for these cars launching.
Really blown away by how nice this thing is to drive and beat on!

Congrats!  I love the license plate!

I see these things driving around here ALL the time.  The noise makes me want a musclecar again.  Good stuff.

lol, i've almost bought it back a few times but buying my old talon back sealed the deal on that option.

I sold it just not wanting the payment since my TA hadn't sold. Of course I get it sold a couple weeks after selling the '14 to my buddy.

Slow4g63, have you thought of opening your own car dealership or auto brokering service?
