2017 VW GTI
« on: February 18, 2017, 05:35:34 PM »
So I've reached a point in my life I can finally afford something fast and fun. I loved my Jetta and wanted a new VW, enter the GTI. Drove 2 hours down to Virginia to save around $7K.

Old Vs. New

Home

6 speed manual FTW!

Fits nicely in my garage...

The 120 mile ride home I was all grins. It has a good bit more power than my old 2.5. I loved that engine, but I've found a new love with boost!

My cheap ass didn't want to spring for the lighting package. The standard lights are great and the LED foglamps are even better.

Warshed. (as we say around here )

So far about 220 miles on it. I fucking love boost, a little over 2500 rpm's it puts you in the seat. But, on the other side you can be conservative and get great mileage.

...creeping much? Would you like the Vin, my address, SSN, etc?

But yes, I bought it from that exact dealership. OTD was $22,800. Far better than any dealership within the same distance.

No, on that information. I don't want to set up a fake ID account in your name so I can browse HOMO and AMC websites. All I did was google "Sheehy Volkswagen" and looked at their stock of GTIs. Yah sorry about that.

I hate living up in the mountain in the winter. I think they're just using up the extra liquid stuff on RT30...

Still waiting on my friggin tags...

I do have a slight gripe, but I guess I was used to a car compared to a hatch. The room is a little lacking, this is my tool-bag for reference. Add work boots and my travel bag and it's tight!

Yeah that's a little tough although I think it's to be expected. At least there's more available height than a trunk - that might come in handy.

I'm such a putz

Since the dealer already mounted the front tag holder that they mounted with small screws there was 5 little holes in the bumper. Tried to get a new bumper out of the dealer, but that was no bueno. So, I did what typical Euro tuners do...

Shitty picture since it was nose in in the garage.
