« on: March 25, 2016, 05:55:28 PM »
Finally have a laptop that's okay to play a damn game on.

so far i have hotline miami and stardew valley. with no mouse, hotline miami is on the backburner. but stardew valley... is eating hours of my fucking life. it's like a cheap minecraft mixed with legend of zelda. i don't even know.

I heard Stardew valley was addictive.

Hitman: Blood Money should only be $7 or so, and should run on your laptop.

The steam sales will kill your bank account.

Stardew Valley is outstanding. Worth every penny. I made it through the first year and a little bit into Spring year 2 - haven't played for a little while because I've been too busy but it really is great. It's the Harvest Moon that should have been made many years ago.

1. I don't have a mouse. Probably not doing that anytime soon.
2. A lot of these games don't really interest me. Portal, Bioshock, et all - fun to watch someone else play, but me play? naaah.

I'm in Summer of year 2, just made some dude get to the point where we're ready to get married, then he pissed me off, so now I'm talking to this other dude. Apparently we're gonna have some big date which is right before I can propose or whatever, and I'm gonna be a huge bitch. I might just date the goth chick.

If you have any recs for games like this - the overhead view, oldschool final fantasy style graphics, puzzle games, please tell me. As for shooters or really in depth shit, I'm taking a pass for now. My boyfriend wants me to get Darkest Dungeon?? I think?? He said it's a badass RPG but the previews leave me feeling a little disinterested. Has anyone played it yet??

I haven't played it but Darkest Dungeon is very popular. It's incredibly punishing with failure and I've seen some good raging when streamers play.

I wouldn't call it an RPG though.

Don't play Hotline Miami then, lol, that game is NOT easy.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (yeah, the N64 game) just got put on Steam for $10.

I'm aware it's hard. I watched him play through. But even though I have it, I can't play it myself because of the distinct lack of mouse.

Hmm.. will have to look at that. I started modding Stardew Valley.

You might like Transistor, it's a cool RPG-ish game with the top down isometric camera angle.

Might want to wait for it to go on sale though, I haven't beat it yet so I'm not sure if the story is long enough to justify the $20 price point.
