Nockamixon State Park - Summer 2016
« on: December 24, 2015, 11:10:59 PM »
http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/findapark/nockamixon/

Hot dogs, mad doriftu in the parking lot, and lots of laughs with fellow members. I've been there for two of them years ago and we had a blast each time.
Nockamixon is a beautiful state park right on the Delaware Water Gap with scenic drives out to it and a centralized location. It works well for people to make it in from a fair portion of the NYC tri-state area as well as Pennsylvania and a bit further South.
Anyone remember the number of the lot we used? It's one of the first lots on the North-West side of the park right off the road.

I have a stuff at the end of June, mid-August, and early September which I am committed to. Thoughts on some time in July?

I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.

July would work for me. As of now I have nothing planned, I assume this will be a Saturday thing?

That's what I'm thinking. Shoot to start at maybe 10. We usually broke up around 3 or 4.

Definitely a Saturday. I don't remember the lot either but I do remember it's one of the first.

I am still down. We're in the middle of buying a house right now so a bit preoccupied. Once I get that squared away and just have to be focused on work I'll be able to focus more on pulling this together. If anyone else wants to just take lead that's cool too.

How about Saturday July 16th?

Let's go with July 16. I figure it's so far out that it's really unlikely it will fuck with anyone's plans.

A month out we should get a head count and figure out what everyone is bringing.

16th sounds good to me. Looks like it might just be the few of us

The only thing that will throw a kinker in this, there may always be a chance of an emergency call I gotta go to Saturday mornings. Doubt it would happen, but whenever you try and plan something... Now if it would be a call to the Allentown area, that's close, but no burnouts in the work van

Less than 30 miles from me. If work allows I might drop by.

Now that we're almost a month out, we need to actually plan this thing.

http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/findapark/nockamixon/

You can find a map on their website. Pretty sure our normal lot is #12 (red square):

You can get a better idea on their map.

How do we want to do food? There's a charcoal grill at the lot so we'll need charcoal, lighter fluid, some way to light, and someone that knows how to use it. Or we can just go easy mode and I can get a couple pizzas. Maybe someone else brings some chips or something. Throw in some soda and it's a "picnic".

Up to you guys. We've done the charcoal thing in the past and, when we're actually prepared, it's gone pretty well. However, I don't know what our head count is so that may be the decider.

Let's get a list of attendees. Copy the list and throw your name at the bottom.

3. Dan

We're still sitting in limbo trying to close on a house for the last 3 months. It looks like it's going to happen soon so short of it happening that weekend I will be there.

I don't care how we do food. I have food allergies so will be bringing my own food. We can just hang out at the lot and it would be fine by me.

I think this may not be happening now unless it's going to just be the 3 of us. Maybe someone can ping Delta, Mick, and James to see if they're still interested?

Zillon and Alex are both out. I confirmed with them through Facebook.

I sent a message to Wheels on Facebook on April 17 but never heard back. Apparently we're not FB friends? Seems odd. Maybe someone can chat with him as well.

Totally forgot about this. Gonna have to sit this one out unfortunately. Stick in Pittsburgh that weekend for work. July seemed to blow up for me. ANC this weekend in Pitt and on call out there the following.

We're still waiting to get a closing date. I can bet you money it's going to end up being that Friday. Since everyone is basically washing out do we push the date or just forget it?

A fall meet would be pretty cool but if we couldn't get people to set concrete plans 4 months out, I doubt it will ever happen.

I'm only about 40 minutes from Nockamixon but such meetups are just not a priority for me.  I'll be moving back to Louisiana in October anyway, my mission up here is coming to an end finally.

Jersey is pretty close to me.  I can show up with 2 weeks notice generally (provided we aren't having a big inspection at work which happens once a year).
