Title: Asus Tablet won't connect to WiFi
Post by: Meatywand on March 31, 2014, 05:26:34 PM
So over the weekend I got a new (to me) Asus Transformer that has the latest version of Android for it (Froyo something I think? I dunno). It worked fine while I was at my brother in law's as far as connecting to his network, but when I got it home Sunday I tried to get on mine and it kept stalling out at the Authenticating step, then it would just disconnect and tell me it had poor signal strength, even though it was maybe 10 feet from my wireless router. The only difference between my bro in law's network and mine is that mine is secured since I live in a damn apartment. Would a simple power cycle of the router fix this? Or am I going to have to delve into some ungodly complicated Android shit?

You shouldn't have to do anything complicated. Do any other devices work? If they do, the router is working fine.

Hit up Google and see if anyone else has had the same issue.

Yeah my iPhone, Kindle Fire and Asus Laptop are all connected to it, only reason I asked about cycling the router is because we had a power outage and I didn't know if that would make things wonky....

Oh fucking hell, I'm running Jelly Bean 4.2, apparently it's better than 4.2.....but they have WiFi issues. First things first I'm gonna reset the router....I really hope I don't have to spend all night learning how to fucking MAC filter....

I don't have the time or money to build a giant ass tower that I don't even NEED bro, much less the space in my apartment for a proper battle station. I mean...a home CAD station might be sweet to have if I go back to school so I can still work on projects from home after work hours/on the weekend without driving 30 minutes to my office from my house...but yeah...I have my Asus Laptop, Kindle Fire and Asus Transformer...I'm a happy Wand.
